Bernard François
(Born 1944)
Bernard François is an important Belgian goldsmith, jewelry designer and gallery owner. He creates avant-garde colourful works using techniques from the industrial and technological worlds.
1960-1964 : Artistic studies at the School of Art of Maredsous (Belgium), goldsmiths section – Professors: Marcel Warrand, Félix Roulin.
1964-1965 : Artistic studies at IATA in Namur (Belgium).
1966-1968 : Artistic studies at La Cambre – National School of Architecture and Visual Arts in Brussels – metal workshop. Professor: Félix Roulin.
1968-1970 : Creations for the jeweller Demaret in Brussels.
1970: Creation of an independent workshop, Avenue Monte-Carlo (Forest) in Brussels.
1975 : Opening of the neon Gallery in Brussels (19, rue Defacqz – 1050 BXL). Organization in this same gallery of numerous exhibitions.
1980 – 1988: Speaker at the Ecole Supérieure des Arts Plastiques et Visuels de l’Etat in Mons (Belgium).
1988 – 2010 : Professor of Jewel Creation at the Institute of Teaching Arts, Techniques, Science and Crafts (IATA) in Namur (Belgium).
